Blue Tin Produce – How it all began
We set up Blue Tin Produce after becoming increasingly frustrated with the quality of the meat available from the supermarkets and having worked on the farm for 25 years in the farming industry, Jed had always had a keen interest in rearing his own animals, in particular pigs.
In 2002, we set about rearing our own meat to supply ourselves, our families and friends.
Fantastic quality rare breed meat
We rear rare breed Gloucester Old Spot pigs and Wessex Saddleback pigs on the farm in Ipsden. All our pigs are reared slowly and naturally in free range grass paddocks and produce fantastic quality meat. These breeds are particularly suited to the free-range outdoor lifestyle. This pleases our customers who increasingly stress the importance of knowing where their meat comes from and how it has been reared. Our pigs are bred on the farm and are fed on home-grown barley.
Lambs too!
Our lambs too are bred on the farm and are fed only on crops grown within a 3-mile radius, so we have full traceability of our produce.
